This morning I congratulated Boris Johnson on winning the Conservative Leadership election and becoming the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I hope that a new Government will continue to develop a cordial relationship with the European Union and a Deal will be agreed by the UK and the EU that will lead to a managed Brexit. I do also hope that that the new Government will prioritise development of a new modern industrial hub, development of infrastructure projects and bolster energy sector with emphasis on decarbonisation, renewables and new interconnectors with neighbouring countries. Finally, the new Government should demonstrate its pro-business credentials not just through words and policy proposals, but also through actions and day-to-day work with the business leaders for the prosperity of the country.
